WELCOME TO KINZA ACADEMY!
"Much of what I learned in school, I have had to spend my life unlearning."
--Hamza Yusuf
"Government schooling is the most radical adventure in history. It kills the family by monopolizing the best times of childhood and by teaching direspect for home and parents. We don't need state-certified teachers to make education happen--that probably guarantees it won't."
--John Taylor Gatto
"For the sole true end of education is simply this: to teach men how to learn for themselves; and whatever instruction fails to do this is effort spent in vain."
--Dorothy Sayers, The Lost Tools of Learning.
Kinza Academy has been a forerunner in the Muslim homeschooling movement since 2001. The Academy was developed out of a growing need to introduce Muslim families to an alternative to public education in the form of homeschooling, and to provide parents with a viable means of educating their children at home.
While there are many books on how to homeschool, many people feel overwhelmed with the amount of material available and often confused upon which approach to take when deciding how to establish a home school. The Academy assumes the laborious task of deciding what to teach and what books to teach from, by providing its families with a well-researched and time-tested homeschooling curriculum. Kinza Academy follows a Western classical approach to education, and each grade is supplemented with an Islamic studies section for the Muslim child.
In short, we do the preparatory work, and we leave the teaching to you!
